Check Yeast and write conclusion for Analyzing Population Growth Lab

Today you will check your yeast and measure how much the population has grown on your plates (you decide how to measure that).

Then you will finish the explanation portion of the lab and write your conclusion following the claim, evidence, reasoning format. 

Share your conclusion with another group and edit as needed. Submit the entire assignment.  Make sure you look at the rubric!

Activity #2 and ACTprofile.org

Make sure you have everything complete for the first part of your lab report for Activity #2 in Analyzing Population growth.  Then go to actprofile.org, create an account and take the inventories (under the "my plans" tab)

Analyzing Population Growth Activity #2

Today you need to conduct your experiment for Activity 2 in the Analyzing Population Growth Assignment. Basically, you need to decide which "treatment" you are going to test, and plate the treatment and yeast on petri dishes.  You can fill out all of the observational protocol once your yeast is plated.  It needs time to grow, so that we can look at it for the remainder of this week as well as on the block day next week.

Population Case Studies & begin Copper Basing Video

Today I am at a training all day, so go to Canvas and complete the Population Case Studies assignment.  If that is complete, then begin the Copper Basin Video Assignment.

Adding Meal worms and Copper Basin Video

Today you will add meal worms to your habitat.  As you go through this lab, make sure you are recording your data regularly.

Once your meal worms are added to your habitat, we will look at the time line for project #2 and begin the Copper Basin Video Assignment (details in Canvas)

Meal Worms!!

Ok, so Petsmart's refrigerator where they keep the meal worms stopped working.  I will have to get meal worms from another location, however, we can still set up your meal worm habitat so that it is all ready to go for your meal worms on Wednesday! :) (more info on what is required for the assignment on Canvas)
We will also finish watching Eternal Enemies and you will have time to write and submit your reflection paragraph.
